
The Silo Rebels have their next coach and successor to the legendary Billy Jack Bowen. The Rebels have named Eddie Jeffcoat as their next baseball coach in a report by Kevin Farr. Jeffcoat has been the head coach at Dale as of recent, winning two state championships and getting one runner up. He has also had stops at Prague, Tushka, Cashion and Mulhall-Orlando as well as assistant roles at Yukon, Washington and Putnam City North. Jeffcoat has a coaching record of 474-212 and was inducted into the Bryan County Hall of Fame in 2018. He was also a former player of Billy Jack Bowen at Bokchito and was apart of the state championship teams in 1988 and 1990, He played shortstop and pitched for the Roughriders, He would go on to play for Southeastern Oklahoma State University and the University of Central Oklahoma. “Coach Jeffcoat has had a tremendous history of head coaching success and is from this area. We felt like he is the guy to continue leading our highly successful baseball program that Coach Bowen has built. We can’t wait to see what the future holds” said Silo Superintendent Kate McDonald in a statement to Kevin Farr.
