Lady Eagles win sixth state title to cap off dominant season

The Red Oak Lady Eagles was coming into the state championship on a streak of putting up a lot of runs putting up 146 runs and counting combined since districts and was back in the finals after missing the tournament last season while the Hammon Lady Warriors was back in the finals for first time since 2010. The first inning would start off with four solo home runs in a row for the Lady Eagles from Kaylee Bryce, Abbie Tovar, Graciee Noggle and Maycee Butcher. Bottom of the inning the Lady Warriors would answer back with a two run RBI single from Emma Krapcha to score Harlee Benkley and Mariah Espinosa. Top of the second the Lady Eagles would score two more runs despite it coming off a ground out and a sacrifice fly. Graciee Noggle would grab her second home run of the day as well. Fast forward to the third inning the Lady Eagles would score another run off of a ground out. The fourth inning would be relatively quiet but the fifth inning the Lady Eagles would get it going again with an RBI single from Maycee Butcher to score Kaylee Bryce including a three run home run from Abbie Tovar. Bottom of the inning the Lady Warriors would get a run on the board despite an out allowing Maylee Chaney to score from third but an out at third would bring the inning to a close. Top of the sixth with bases loaded Abbie Tovar would put the exclamation point on the game with a grand slam, Bottom of the inning defense would prevail as the Lady Eagles would go on to win 16-3.
