Washington cruises past Idabel in Quarterfinals

The Washington Warriors came into Hook Eales Stadium in McAlester with one goal in mind and that was the road to the gold ball. The Warriors was set to matchup with the Idabel Warriors in the Quarterfinal round of the Class 2A playoffs. Washington would get it going early and quick on defense. The first quarter would start out with a Cole Scott touchdown to go up 7-0 then the offense would get it going in the second quarter, Scott would once again score this time taking a 65 yard touchdown to the house to go up 14-0 then Hudson Howard would punch it in on the goal line after a long run from Scott set up the Warriors in the red zone. Defense would come up big a few plays later after a Ben Vaughn recovered a fumble on an Idabel reverse pass then immediately after Cole Scott would have his third touchdown on the night to make it 28-0. A few plays later Major Cantrell would find Nate Roberts wide open for a 79 yard touchdown pass to make it 34-0. Third quarter would be scoreless for both teams but some good plays was made on defense, Start of fourth quarter Major Cantrell would find Cage Morris for a 44 yard touchdown to make it 41-0, Later on in the fourth Kale Brakefield and the freshmen players would drive the distance of the field to setup Mayson Thomas for a score on the goal line to make it 47-0. Last minute of the fourth quarter and Idabel would get on the board when Waylon Phillips would find Matthew Nanez for a 50 yard touchdown to make it 47-6 and that would be the final score. Washington advances to their third consecutive semifinals game and will play Jones at Putnam City High School next Friday at 7:00pm.
