Lone Grove vs Eufaula
2:30pm (OG&E Field)
Last Appearance: Lone Grove (Eighth consecutive since 2017) Eufaula (Second consecutive)
Lone Grove’s road to state
Lone Grove’s road started with wins over Blackwell 7-0 and 8-0 in regionals and Heritage Hall 1-0 and 10-0 in super regionals.
This year has been a different than the previous seven but the kids have been resilient all season long. At times they’ve been stronger than me but we’ve stayed together, loved each other and stayed focused on our goal! We try to prepare all season for the playoffs by playing a very tough schedule and putting the kids in situations that aren’t comfortable. We were super excited to punch our ticket Thursday. We don’t take that for granted and realize that it’s earned not given. Heritage Hall had an excellent pitcher and we knew going into that series that it would be a fight and it was exactly that said Lone Grove coach Gary Guthrie.
Eufaula’s road to state
Eufaula’s road began with wins over Westville 8-1 and 10-2 in regionals and Valliant 7-2 and 4-3 in super regionals to advance to state.
This year, we were fortunate enough to win our district and host regionals and took care of business. We didn’t get to host Super Regionals, but we got geared up and our fan base traveled well with us down to Valliant. We had 2 tough back & forth battles with them and were able to get 2 wins to get us back to State. Right now, the girls are having fun and playing well together. You can’t really ask for much more than that. The girls are excited and ready to get after it. All of our supporters are just as excited as they were last year and looking forward to watching our girls give max effort, be gritty, and see if we can make a run an it said Eufaula coach Ryan Green.
Chandler vs Lindsay
10:00am (OG&E Field)
Last Appearance: Chandler (First since 2016) Lindsay (Third consecutive)
Chandler’s road to state
Chandler’s road to state began with wins over Spiro 13-0 and 6-1 in regionals and Alva 1-0 and 8-1 in super regionals to advance to state.
We went 34-5 on our way to the state tournament. We won the Cushing tournament, defeating Ponca City in the finals and the Oktaha tournament defeating North Rock Creek. We also won our conference tournament beating Stroud in the finals. We went undefeated at home and our pitcher Kennedy Allen an Oklahoma State University commit struck out 326 batters this season. The excitement of winning a regional and a super regional for our kids is as amazing. Our seniors had been really close a couple of times but just couldn’t seem to get over the hump. So you can imagine the excitement and the reaction by not only our team but their parents as well. A lot of our kids are kids whose parents grew up and played here also, went to some state tournaments and now they get to see their daughters doing the same thing. It’s very exciting said Chandler coach Bryan Herring.
Lindsay’s road to state
Lindsay’s road began with wins over Little Axe 16-0 and 4-1 in regionals and Kingston 10-1 twice in super regionals to advance to state.
We played a tough schedule this season. Out of the 36 games we’ve played, 21 of those teams were ranked 16 and above in their respective classes (4 of those teams making it to state in their classes, and 1 team being the winner of class 2a. Our undefeated districts wins, regional and super regional championships felt expected. Our schedule helped us prepare for the playoffs and our 3rd straight state appearance reaction was also expected. The girls knew what they had to do in order to get to state now they know what they must do in order to handle business said Lindsay coach Ellane Moore.
Washington vs Adair
12:00pm (OG&E Field)
Last Appearance: Washington (26th consecutive since 1998) Adair (First since 2019)
Washington’s road to state
The Lady Warriors started off with wins over Jones 9-0 and 11-0 in regionals and Sperry 3-0 and 8-0 in super regionals to advance to state.
Just really proud of this bunch. They show up and work everyday. We have to get something’s cleaned up on defense and have to get to hitting the ball. We have a few days to get everything figured out to make a run. 26 straight years is unbelievable. It’s like stuff they write moves about. To me it just says a lot about our community and how much softball means to them said Washington coach Tylor Lampkin.
Adair’s road to state
Adair’s road began with wins over Tishomingo 10-0 and 5-4 in regionals, Split with Tahlequah Sequoyah 9-1 and 10-0 in the first two games but won game three 8-6 to advance to state.
Our road to the hall of fame was not always easy with our strength of schedule and the teams we played against. The girls really persevered after some tough teams and tough losses throughout the season. Despite the tough schedule, they never lost faith & trust in each other. We are excited for the tournament. The team has worked hard to punch their ticket to state and overall excited and ready! The girls know the legacy that has been left in Adair that this is our goal and what we strive to achieve said Adair coach Chase Knott.
Perry vs Silo
5:00pm (OG&E Field)
Last Appearance: Perry (Second consecutive) Silo (Ninth consecutive since 2015)
Perry’s road to state
Perry’s road began with wins over Comanche 9-1 and 20-4 in regionals and Prague 13-2 and 17-4 in super regionals to advance to state.
It was always the expectation within our program for us to return to the tournament this year so having accomplished that we are looking forward to the opportunity to represent our school and the town of Perry as best we can. We played a very challenging schedule throughout the year to better prepare ourselves for the level of competition we would face once post season started. Being the defending state champion presents some additional challenges and our kids have embraced those as they’ve faced them. Even with several returning starters from last years state championship team we have a very different team dynamic this year and this group hopes to leave their own mark in the history books at Perry said Perry coach Bryan Hayes.
Silo’s road to state
Silo’s road began with wins over Okmulgee 17-0 and Kiefer 6-1 and 4-2 in regionals and Bethel 14-1 and 4-0 in super regionals to advance to state.
We beat a really good Kiefer team in our Regional then had to beat a really good Bethel team to advance out of our super regional. We are excited for our 9th trip in a row. We are finally getting healthy and getting everyone back on the field. We are peaking at the right time. Hopefully we can put three good games together said Silo coach Mike Lawless.
