Tuttle gets revenge on Tri-City Rival Blanchard to win first title since 2014

The Tuttle Tigers and the Blanchard Lions met in the Class 4A State Championship last season with the Lions winning on a walkoff while the Lions also defeated them in regular season and now we would once again get the Tri-City Rivalry on the biggest stage in the state championship. The theme of this game would be a defensive battle all throughout, The first inning for the Lions would start with an sacrifice bunt along with two hit by pitches and then a fielder’s choice double play while the first inning for the Tigers would start with two consecutive outs, despite Ashton Bennight getting on with a single, A ground out at second brought it a close. Both teams would go three up and three down in the second inning. Bottom of the third the Tigers would strike first with an RBI single from Alex Conover to score Brady Shackleford and an RBI double from Ashton Bennight to score Alex Conover. Top of the fourth despite Carson Howe getting to first on an error at second, Two consecutive strikeouts would close the inning for the Lions. Bottom of the fourth would go very similar for the Tigers, Brady McAdoo would get on with a single and Easton Green with a walk but three consecutive outs brought it to a close. Top of the fifth the Lions would get on the board on a walk with loaded bases and a two run RBI single from Carson Howe. Bottom of the fifth the Tigers would answer back on an two run RBI single from Carsen Moore to score Ashton Bennight and Alex Conover. The sixth inning would be scoreless but both teams would come up big on defense. Top of the seventh after one out, Aiden Kilgore would get to second on a double but the Tigers defense would come up big to get the next two outs and hang on to win the game 4-3 and win their first title since 2014.

Carsen Moore started the game for the Lions allowing three hits and three runs over four and two-thirds innings and striking out four, Kolby Heskett would come in relief the rest of the game. Jaxon Heard was on the mound for the Lions and surrendered four runs on eight hits over six innings, striking out three. Ashton Bennight and Alex Conover would have multiple hits, Bennight would lead the Tigers in at bats going 3-3 at the plate. Kobe Madron lead the Lions in at bats with two hits in three at bats.
