
The Washington Warriors came into the State Tournament with one goal in mind and that was get back to the title game and their first round opponent in Victory Christian was a very familiar opponent as they defeated them last season 15-5 but this time would be a much tighter game. The Conquerors would strike first with a triple from Issac King and would score on an RBI double from Aiden O’Malley but the Warriors defense would recoop and Marlon Moore would strikeout next batter and catch a fly out to close the inning, Bottom of first after two consecutive outs, Camden Bates would get in scoring position with a triple but a ground out would bring it to a close. Top of second after a single from Bradyn Strickland, Marlon Moore would strike out two more batters and get the third out on a pickoff at first, Bottom of the inning after two consecutive outs, Nate Roberts would get a double but a strikeout brought up third out. Top of third after two outs Issac King would get on with a single but a pop out brought it to a close. Bottom of third after a double play for second out, Marlon Moore would grab a solo home run to center field to tie the game. Fourth inning would be a defensive battle as was the rest of the game. Marlon Moore would come up big in the fifth inning to take the lead on an RBI double to score Sutton Moore, Despite the rest of the game was scoreless the Warriors would come up big on defense to hold on and win the game 2-1 and advance to tomorrow’s semifinal game at 1:30pm against the winner of Heritage Hall and Salina at Seminole State College.
Marlon Moore would only surrender one run on six hits over seven innings, Striking out five and only walking one and also lead the team in bats with two hits in three at bats. Gabe Miles would start the game and lasted five innings, allowing five hits and two runs while striking out five and walking one, Emerson Lane threw one inning in relief. Issac King lead the team in hits going 3-3 at the plate.
