
Porum 12 Indianola 1

The Porum Panthers was coming off the perfect week to cap off the regular season and coming into postseason looking to win their first districts since 2017. The Panthers would begin the day at Porter against Indianola and the Panthers would start it off by getting three runs on the board, One coming on a dropped third strike in which Cooper Franklin would reach on an overthrow and Isaiah Sallee would score from third, The next one on a fly out that would give Michael Wright to chance to score and then off a sacrifice bunt from Rylind Tillery to score Trevor Schexnayder from third. The Warriors would get on the board in the bottom of the third off a dropped third strike and Parker Fox would reach first allowing Noah Peterson to score from third, Fox would then try to advance to second but would get tagged out. The second inning would be scoreless for both teams, The Panthers going three up and three down, The Warriors would get on base on a single from Alex Whitlock but three quick outs followed. Top of third the Panthers would get another run and this one coming on an RBI single from Braden Catron and fielder’s choice at second which gave Wright the chance to score and advance Catron to first, Bottom of third the Warriors would get on base with singles from Joshua Odell and Peterson including a balk to advance Peterson to second but a ground out would bring up third out. Fourth inning would be scoreless as both teams would go three up and three down. Fifth inning the Panthers would get the runs going and it would start on a single from Brayden Stinnett and despite a ground out on Wright’s at bat the Panthers would get two runs out of it from Stinnett and Sallee, Catron would score Schnexnayder from third on an RBI single to center field then Kyle Rock would get an RBI double on a line drive to center field to score JR Robison and Tillery. Waylon Dishman would score Rock from third on a sacrifice bunt, Sallee back up to bat and an error would advance Stinnett and Gage Scarberry to third and Scarberry would score, A balk from Peterson on the mound would score Stinnett from third and despite Sallee striking out the Panthers got eight runs out of the inning, The Warriors would go three up and three down to end the inning and the Panthers would secure the win.
Braden Catron pitched the entire game for the Panthers allowing three hits and one run over five innings, striking out five and walking none. Joshua Odell started the game for the Warriors and surrendered four runs on one hit over four innings and striking out six, Noah Peterson and Ford Peterson pitched in relief of Odell.
Kyle Rock, Isaiah Sallee, Braden Catron, Gage Scarberry, Rylind Tillery and Brayden Stinnett all had one hits to lead the team in hits.
Porter 4 Porum 1

The Porum Panthers and the Porter Pirates was very familiar with each other having played each other in the finals of the Webbers Falls Tournament, The Pirates won that matchup 8-0. This matchup would be crucial as the winner of this game would be in the driver’s seat to clinch districts tomorrow afternoon. This game would be a pitching duel between Isaiah Sallee for Porum and Tyler Durrett for Porter. The first three innings would be scoreless but the Pirates would get on the board in the fourth with two runs off walks on loaded bases. The Panthers would score on a walk with loaded bases for their lone run of the game. Sixth inning the Pirates would score two more runs, One being on an RBI single from Carson Bindrum and the other one on a walk with bases loaded. Top of seventh inning the Panthers would need to get some runs but would go three up and three down on two strikeouts and a ground out and the Pirates would secure the win.
Isaiah Sallee would pitch the entire game for the Panthers allowing four hits and four runs and striking out six. Tyler Durrett pitched the entire game for the Pirates allowing one hit and one run and striking out 15.
Rylind Tillery went 1-3 at the plate to lead the Panthers in hits. The Panthers didn’t commit an error in the field, Cooper Franklin had the most chances in the field with eight. Logan Crain lead the Pirates with two hits in three at bats.
The Panthers will play Porter again at 2:00pm tomorrow and must win to keep their season alive.
