Lady Panthers get senior night win over McCurtain

The Porum Lady Panthers came into this game looking to snap a two game losing skid while the McCurtain Lady Bulldogs was looking to snap a four game losing skid. The Lady Bulldogs would get on base first by error and on a single from Bailey Bennett and would even advance Watts to third on an error in left field, Despite a line out from Faith Resendiz it would set up Watts to score from third. Bottom of the first the Lady Panthers would start off slow but get in their rhythm when Rilee Miller and Leia Johnson would get on base with singles, Jailyn Smith would reach first base on error at short while Miller would score from third after an error to tie it and Johnson would advance to second. Mercedes Martin would reach first on error at first and scores Johnson to take the lead and advanced Mesa Coluston to second, Zoe Davis then steps up and drills a line drive to center field for an RBI double to score Martin and Coulston. Top of second the Lady Bulldogs would look to answer back, Elizabeth Davis would reach first on an error at second on a pop fly but three quick outs brought the top of the inning to a close. Bottom of the inning the Lady Panthers got on base on singles from Emma Murray and Gracie Tiger, Despite an out on a fielder’s choice at second on a ground ball from Courtney Pease, Emma Murray would score from third. Miller gets on base with a single and Pease advances to third on an error at second, Johnson comes up big at the plate again and this time on a linedrive RBI double to right field to score Miller and Pease, Coulston would reach first on an error at second and Johnson would score in the process while Martin also reached on error but would get to second and advance Coluston to third on same error, Davis then comes up with another RBI double to center field to score Coluston and Martin. Top of third the Lady Panthers defense would come up big to keep runners from getting on at first, Bottom of third Pease would manage to get on at first but the inning would come to a close after a fielder’s choice at second brought up third out. Top of fourth the Lady Bulldogs would start to find some rhythm at the plate with a single from Bennett to get on first while Avrie Ford would then reach first after an error in left field on a fly ball and would also advance Bennett to second. Lady Panthers would then come up big on a fielder’s choice and line out to get the next two outs. Bottom of fourth Johnson would get on with a double and would advance to third on an error in left field, Smith would come back up to the plate and get an RBI single on a groundball to left field to score Johnson and that would be the ball game as the Lady Panthers would win 11-1 in the fourth inning.

Mesa Coulston was back in the circle for the Lady Panthers after missing yesterday’s game and only allowed two hits on one run over four innings, striking out two and walking none. Bailey Bennett was in the circle for the Lady Bulldogs and surrendered 11 runs on 11 hits over three innings, striking out two and walking none. The Lady Panthers had 11 hits in the game, Leia Johnson, Rilee Miller and Zoe Davis all had multiple hits, Johnson went 3-3 at the plate to lead in hits. Bailey Bennett lead the Lady Bulldogs with two hits in two at bats.

The Lady Panthers will be back in action on Tuesday at Spiro at 4:30pm
