
The Washington Warriors baseball team is having an impressive start to the season, Including finishing near the top of the field of 72 teams in the Gulf Shores Classic down in Alabama, Prior to the Gulf Shores Classic, The Warriors had started off strong with two really good wins over Jenks and Ft. Cobb-Broxton. The field would be well represented by teams from all over Oklahoma and the field would include Roff, Checotah, Hilldale, Altus, Sallisaw, Putnam City North, Kiefer, Claremore, Lincoln Christian, Sapulpa, Salina, Rattan, Stillwater, Cascia Hall, Pryor, Elk City, Metro Christian, Muskogee, Tushka, Ft. Gibson and Bartlesville as well as teams from all across the country far and wide to complete the field of 72 teams.
The Warriors first three games they would combine for a total of 44 runs and only give up one run in their 17-0 win over Quitman and 14-1 win over Brookwood on day one and a 13-0 win over Calera on day two, Day three they would get to the finals after defeating the Jackson University School 5-3 and Gallatin 9-5 to face off against Tuscaloosa County where they would fall 10-0.
The Warriors return to action on Monday at home against Amber-Pocasset and begin 3A district action on Tuesday against Marietta
