Championship Saturday is finally here and we have some exciting matchups and to quote public address announcer Steve Daniels at State Fair Arena, Congratulations it is Championship Saturday and you have made it to the big house!
Class B Boys
#1 Ft. Cobb-Broxton vs #4 Calumet

The Ft. Cobb-Broxton Mustangs are back in the title game for the first time since 2019 and so are the Calumet Chieftains. This game will definitely be a battle of scoring and defense, Kray Rogers has been the leading scorer for the Mustangs throughout the State Tournament, Kyler Thiessen has been a force the Chieftains with his speed and quickness on defense and his ability to drive and kick, Both teams are no stranger to Championship Saturday, The Mustangs will be looking to win first title since 2019 while the Chieftains will be looking to win their first since 2017. The coaching matchup between Scott Hines and Jacob Mayfield will be a great one for sure.
Class A girls
#1 Seiling vs #2 Caddo

The Seiling Lady Wildcats are back in the finals and we know they are no stranger to Championship Saturday as they have been there six of the last eight championships while the Caddo Lady Bruins are in for the first time in school history, One matchup to watch will be Braci Nyberg for Seiling and Emily Robinson for Caddo, Both guards can score and defend really well and it showed in their semifinal performances against Okarche and Riverside respectively. This game also happens to be a rematch of a semifinal game from last season. The Lady Wildcats will be looking to go back to back for first time since 2017 while the Lady Bruins are going for first title in school history.
Class B girls
#1 Hammon vs #2 Lomega

This matchup not only is a rematch of the championship from the Hammon Tournament but it is also a big rivalry of two girls basketball powerhouses. The coaching matchup of Kevin Lewallen for Lomega and Leah Beer for Lomega is a great one all around with two future hall of famers leading the helm. The backcourt matchups between Harlee Benkley and Maylee Chaney of Hammon and Darcy Roberts and Abby Swart of Lomega will be very interesting to watch, Both duos can shoot the three very well and will look to get open. The low post matchup between Henley West and Sydni Walker will be another interesting one to watch. This game will be an all time classic matchup, As stated before these two powerhouses are no stranger to Championship Saturday.
Class A boys
#1 Caddo vs #4 Okay

The Caddo Bruins are also in the state championship for first time in school history like their girls team while the Okay Mustangs are back in the finals for first time since 2017, Both teams have been really fun to watch. The matchup to watch in this one will be a frontcourt battle between DJ Dill for Caddo and Duckee Schwimmer of Okay, Both players are very efficent scorers and defenders and will look to get to the basket any way they can. The guard matchups of Kale Brister and Diezel Davis will be interesting as well, Another interesting fact Okay has no seniors while Caddo only has a couple so we will see two young teams with a lot of talent going at it for four quarters, Both teams will be vying for their first championship in school history.
Good luck to all teams today and let’s play ball!
