The Area Tournament is finally here and we are one we more week away from the State Tournament and the Buffalo Valley boys and girls are both in the Area finals, For the Buffs they are looking to make back to back State Tournament appearances while the Lady Buffs are looking to make it back to State for first time since 2014 and even go for their first state tournament win in school history. The girls team has been lead by a strong backcourt in Courtney Grey and Emma Roberts along with a really good shooter in Mykayla Hayes along two other defenders in Addisyn Wright and Kelsey Cauthron. The boys team has one of the best players in the state in Jace Hunter who is the go to guy for the Buffs while Steven Morris can get hot from three along with a solid big man in Zane Collins who almost never misses a shot and a really good defensive player in Hunter McPherson, You also have another player in Brendon Champlin that is a hard worker and a good all around player.
“We are super excited for this opportunity that stands in front of us, We are enjoying preparing for this moment, It would be a great feeling to make it for the second time ever” said both teams when asked about the feeling of going into the Area finals. The Lady Buffs will play Pittsburg and the Buffs will play Roff in the Area finals on Friday night at 6:00 and 7:30 at Ada High School.
