
The Porum Lady Panthers would advance to their fourth consecutive championship in the Chieftain Classic at Graham-Dustin with a 59-41 win over Maud while the Panthers fell to Wayne in semifinal action 60-44. The Lady Panthers have won the tournament the previous three seasons and will look to make it a fourth.
Porum 59 Maud 41
The Lady Panthers would start this game on a high note holding the defense to only 13 points overall, four in the first quarter and nine in the second quarter. The offense was clicking all on cylinders, Second half the Lady Tigers would go on a little run but would still be trailing 47-24 after three, Fourth quarter the Lady Panthers would answer back with a run of their own but the Lady Tigers would still answer back but the Lady Panthers would go on to win and advance to the title game. Courtney Pease lead all scoring for the Lady Panthers with 25 points, Mesa Coluston with 10 points, Kylie Smith with six points, Adysen Dishman and Leia Johnson both with four points, Kolby Peevehouse and Rilee Miller both three points and Zoe Davis with two points. Madison Distinen lead all scoring for the Lady Tigers with 13 points, Aubrey Williams with 11 points, Reese Street with six points, Amerikus Street with five points, Isabelle Ramirez and Shaelynn Fletcher both with one.
Wayne 60 Porum 44
The Wayne Bulldogs was in their first year of the Chieftain Classic and was looking to make a statement while the Porum Panthers was looking to get back to the title game. The first quarter would be back and forth before the Bulldogs went on a run, The Panthers would close in a couple times in the second quarter before another Bulldogs run, Offense would be clicking for the Bulldogs all night as they was hitting a lot of three pointers and midrange jumpers while the Panthers struggled from deep but they would get into their rythym in the third quarter cutting the deficit to nine going into the fourth but a late Bulldogs rally and a few free throws would seal it. Kaleb Madden lead all scoring for the Bulldogs with 28 points, Jaxson Dill with 18 points, Taylen Bryant with eight points, Ty Kemp, Wyatt Webster and Bradley Vanschuyver with two points. Michael Wright lead all scoring for the Panthers with 24 points, Isaiah Sallee with 10 points, Rylind Tillery and Cooper Franklin with four points.
The Lady Panthers will play Saskawa in the championship tomorrow night at 6:00pm while the Panthers will also play Saskawa but in the third place game at 4:30pm
