The Porum Lady Panthers and Panthers was back in action today with the Chieftain Classic at Graham-Dustin with first round matchups against Wanette and Schulter.

The Lady Panthers was coming into this game on a three game win streak after break while the Lady Tigers had snapped a nine game losing streak earlier in the week. The first quarter the Lady Panthers jumped out to a 27-3 in the third quarter and had free throws to end the quarter after a foul on a three pointer that would make it 30-3 after one, Reserves would be in for a majority of the second quarter as well as the second half. The Lady Panthers would move on to 8-1 and will play the winner of Maud/Macomb at 7:00pm tommorow night while the Lady Tigers fall to 1-10 and will play the loser of Maud/Macomb at 10:00am tomorrow morning.
Porum 49 Schulter 46
The Panthers came into the tournament on a four game losing skid and was looking to start the second half of the season after a rough start. The first quarter started out with a Bulldogs run to lead 8-3 before the Panthers went on a run to answer back and make it 10-8, Second quarter would be very similar as the Bulldogs would go on a run to start the quarter but then the Panthers would once again answer back with another run and hold them to only three points after that and go into the locker room up 27-19. The Panthers would lead the majority of the game in the second half however the Bulldogs went on a late rally to close the gap and the Panthers would hang on to win. Panthers go to 2-7 and will play the winner of Wayne and Macomb tomorrow night at 8:30pm while the Bulldogs fall to 6-6 and will play the loser of Wayne and Macomb at 11:30am.
