Week 9 Games to Watch in District Play

Week 9 is here and there are quite a few games of note to watch here, Quite a few will decide the district title while others decide playoff positioning.

Skordle Games of the Week

Millwood at Hennessey

This game is crucial for playoff seeding. Millwood is currently the top team in 2A-1 while Hennessey is off to their best start in awhile. Both teams will look to make a deep playoff run. Tom Nelson and Adam Diesselhorst will have the call.

Coweta at Del City

This game has several different scenarios, If Coweta wins they can clinch the 5A-3 title however if Del City wins that sets up a tiebreaker scenario as that means Coweta, Del City and McAlester all would have one loss, McAlester currently has the tiebreaker on Del City however Coweta still has the upper hand on McAlester. Mark Rodgers and Sam Mayes will have the call.

Blanchard at Bethany

This game could very well decide the district title in 4A-2, Blanchard is undefeated in district play while Bethany only has one loss however a Bethany win could trigger tiebreaker scenarios as Tuttle beat Bethany and Blanchard beat Tuttle. Todd Miller and Scott Wanish will have the call.

Other Games to Watch

Piedmont at Bishop McGuiness

This game is more for playoff positioning but as it is right now the Fighting Irish are locked in at second where Piedmont is at third, Interesting thing here even though Guthrie is at fourth they do have tiebreaker over Piedmont after a 27-0 win on week 5, A Piedmont win in this game could set up a tiebreaker scenario

Lincoln Christian at Muldrow

This game as it is could decide the 3A-3 title, Lincoln Christian is undefeated in district play while Muldrow has one loss to Berryhill. A Muldrow win could make things interesting as Lincoln Christian, Muldrow and Berryhill all have one loss but Berryhill’s game at Stigler will also play a huge role in this district.

Berryhill at Stigler

I mentioned above that this game could play a huge role in tiebreaker if Muldrow were to beat Lincoln Christian and this game will mainly be for positioning and there are multiple scenarios that could play out especially since Berryhill has a win over Muldrow and Lincoln Christian having a win over Stigler.

Lindsay at Frederick

This game will be big for playoff positioning as the winner will very likely get the two seed in 2A-3 and a first round home playoff game.

Prague at Vian

This game will decide the district title for 2A-5. Vian has been rolling since non district and will look to go for their second consecutive district title while Prague is going for first district title since 2002.

Eufaula at Hugo

This game has a couple different scenarios. A win for Eufaula puts the Ironheads in the drivers seat to defend the 2A-6 title and go for their fourth consecutive district title. A win for Hugo will makes things interesting as Idabel has tiebreaker on them. The last meeting between Eufaula and Hugo was a 14-7 win for the Ironheads so this one will be interesting to see unfold.

Vinita at Sequoyah Claremore

This game just like the Frederick/Lindsay game in 2A-3 will be for the two seed in 2A-8 and a home playoff game in the first round, Both teams have proven themselves this year as a team to watch and will be interesting to see unfold, Similar to Sequoyah Claremore’s matchup with Rejoice Christian this will be a matchup of Single Wing/Wing T vs Spread.

Cashion at Hinton

This game has huge playoff implications on the line in A-3. Hinton currently is the fourth seed while Cashion is on the outside looking in.
