The Gore Pirates was coming into their week five matchup against the Canadian Cougars with a lot of momentum having a great start to the season and it was homecoming for the Pirates as well. The Pirates would start out fast on defense forcing a quick three and out for the cougars and on the first possession of the game QB Noah Cooper would throw a 43 yard touchdown to Liam Edwards on the first drive of the game, They would get the ball back pretty quick after getting another three and out and again they would score quick as Gunner Dozier would rush for a 20 yard touchdown, Then Noah Cooper would take the ball himself and take a 43 yard touchdown to the house. Start of second quarter Gunner Dozier would get two more touchdowns to add on plus Hunter McGee would recover a fumbled kickoff for a touchdown. Jackson Duke would come in as QB late in the second quarter and he would get a touchdown off a keeper, Second half would be relatively quiet in terms of action with a running clock but would add two more rushing touchdowns in the third quarter one from Alex Halam and another from Bladen McCartney. Fourth quarter would be scoreless but the defense would continue to make plays as the Pirates would win 61-0 and record their fourth shutout on the season.
The Pirates go to 5-0 and 1-0 in district play and will travel to Pocola this upcoming week on Friday at 7:00pm
