The anticipation was very high in Siberian Gym at Edmond North as Laci Steele would prepare to make her commitment announcement, Going into that evening she had narrowed it down to NC State, Northwestern, Texas A&M, USC and Georgia Tech. She started off with a speech before making her choice and when she went to make her choice she surprised everyone when she tossed the NC State hat to the side when she said quote “So I know a lot of my friends and teammates think I’m going to NC State” then she would pull another hat from under the table and then she would say “And I’m here to tell you you’re right baby!”

“I did it because all of my teammates guessed right so I wanted to surprise them” said Steele when asked about the prank when she fooled everyone into thinking they guessed wrong

“They have amazing staff there, Great support system and the girls were just amazing and I just really really liked everything about it, There’s not one thing I was like I don’t know about this and just like everything worked out” said Steele when asked about what solidified her decision about committing to NC State. “Coach Moore was ecstatic, He couldn’t have been happier, The assistant coaches was just as excited and couldn’t wait to get me on campus next year” said Steele when asked how the coaches reacted when she announced her commitment. “I’m excited to continue on the legacy they already have and just do my thing there and hopefully be a big part of their program, My goal is to work as hard as I can, There is definitely an opportunity there and I’m hoping to prove myself and work as hard as I can and get some minutes on the court for sure” said Steele when asked about what she was looking forward to most about the program and on what her goals would be as a freshman there.
