The SWOSU Lady Bulldogs have their next coach. Jeff Zinn was announced as the next coach by athletic director Todd Helton on Wednesday, Zinn was previously an assistant at Oral Roberts University and his last head coaching job was when he coached the girls basketball team at Anadarko for ten seasons. Zinn takes over a team that finished 29-5 and won the Great American Conference Tournament with an appearance in the NCAA Division II Central Region Tournament. Zinn has 28 years of high coaching experience coming into this job with stops at Guymon, Blanchard, Newkirk and Anadarko as well as one year as an Oral Roberts University assistant, His head coaching career began at Blanchard in 1994 where he won Canadian Valley Conference coach of the year in 1998 and 2001, He go on to get State Runner-Up in 2009 and Quarterfinalist in 2010 at Newkirk, While at Anadarko he would win two state championships in 2012 and 2019 and would qualify for state in nine of his ten seasons in his tenure and would also earn many other accolades for himself including NFHSA State Coach of the Year (2021), NFHSA National Sectional Coach of the Year (2020), Daily Oklahoma Coach of the Year (2019), and OGBCA State Coach of the Year (2012, 2019), His coaching record overall is 563-247.
