
It was bottom of the 7th inning and the last out is thrown and Silo fans knew that the celebration was on. The Silo Rebels had a dominant run in the State Tournament leading to their 30-0 finish and their first undefeated season since 2018 when they went 34-0, The Rebels would defeat Calera 5-0 behind Carter Parker’s dominant performance on the mound only allowing three hits and striking out 14 hitters and not giving up a walk, The Rebels would have two home runs on the day one being a solo home run from Kyler Proctor in the first inning and the other from Josh Trout in the fifth inning, Trout would also , Rebels did not commit an error in the game, The next day they would defeat Cashion 13-1 in the semifinals, Delton Roberts would start the game off with Charlie Gardner and Easton Ford closing in relief, Rebels got the bats going quick and never looked bat on route to the championship, In the championship the Rebels would get a rematch with Oktaha from last fall. Proctor would get the nod in this one only allowing three hits and one run and striking out eight batters, Roberts would throw briefly before Proctor would be inserted back in at 119 pitches, It was a risky gamble but it paid off as the Rebels would get the out at first to clinch their fifth straight and get the undefeated season, “Just going in there and throwing strikes and getting that one out” said Proctor when asked about the strategy on going back with 119 pitches. “We just outwork everyone, We put in the time and effort, We just win” said Proctor when asked about team chemistry and the factors that lead to the undefeated season. Silo goes to 45-9 overall in the State Tournament after their win which puts up 7th overall in all time wins and brings Head Coach Billy Jack Bowen’s win total up to 2136-417 in his 35th year of coaching which is he is currently #1 in all time wins and that stat courtesy of iwasatthegame.
