Breaking down the Class A and B Baseball State Championship

The championships for Class A and B have been set and it has come down to the final two teams in both classes. Class B we have a rematch of the championship last fall between Roff and Ft. Cobb-Broxton while in Class A we have Canute and Red Oak going at it for all the marbles, Roff will be going for their forth in a row while Ft. Cobb-Broxton will be going for a second in a row after winning the Class A title last year. Canute will be going for their first spring title in school history, They won their first fall title last year in 2020 while Red Oak is back in the championship for the second season in a row, They finished runner up in Class B last season and are looking for their first spring state title since 2016.

Class B

I would expect to see a pitching matchup of Tallen Bagwell against Jaxon Willits in this game just as we seen last fall, One interesting stat for the Mustangs is they have stolen 132 bases overall as a team this year and have around a .447 batting average while the top hitters in Jaxon Willits and Drew Woods have been the driving force as well, For the Tigers their top four hitters in Bill McCarter, Kagan Huneycutt, Dylan Reed and Brand Wilson have been the driving force for them, Team batting average overall is around .378 and the defense plays fast and hard.

This will be an interesting matchup as you have two very good well rounded teams going at, As far as a few stats to go on Kasen LeGrand has 12 HRs and Dalton WIlliams have 8 HRs to lead that category for the trojans while Kyron Whinery has a .465 batting average and Dru Steffes has a .461 batting average to lead that category, As a team they have a .377 batting average overall with 252 runs with 43 HRs with a total of 292 runs and only allowed 106 runs on the year. I would expect pitching matchup will be Colby Maddox against Brex Caldwell in this game, Red Oak is a team that is fast on defense and I do expect this game will be a defensive battle throughout.
