Pocola wins Leflore County Tournament for first time since 2008

Shown above is the Pocola Lady Indians with the county tournament plaque, Their first since 2008

Excitement in Wister assured as the final out was caught in the finals of the Leflore County Tournament as the Pocola Lady Indians would go on to win their first LCT since 2008, They are also the first team since Poteau in 2012-13 to sweep the county tournament in all sports (FP and SP softball and basketball) and the third team to do it, Panama was the other team who did this back in 1999-00.

The game appeared to be a defensive battle early on as it was 3-0 for the first few innings, Offense got going behind two home runs from Kail Chitwood to make it a 7-0 game, A comeback seemed to be insight for the Lady Bulldogs as Austyn Wright for Whitesboro would hit a home run to make it 7-3 but then a home run from Allyssa Parker would make it a 9-3 game for the Lady Indians, With two outs and a runner at second the Lady Bulldogs needed to score but a pop up to Kylee Smith for the third out would seal the game for the Lady Indians and they would go on to win the county tournament.
